UN-Habitat, UNDP and FAO, in collaboration with several members of the Local2030 Coalition, are co-organizing a dedicated session to present the High Impact Initiative on Localization during the SDG Acceleration Day, titled "Local2030 Coalition: Pushing the Key Transitions and Achieving the SDGs by 2030". The session will take place from 11:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. on September 17, 2023, in Conference Room 2 of the United Nations Headquarters in New York.

The SDG Acceleration Day is part of the SDG Action Weekend focusing on the High Impact Initiatives. The High Impact Initiative on Localization is one of twelve High Impact Initiatives, led by UN-system entities, that showcase select programmatic offerings and initiatives to support Member States' efforts towards just development transitions and SDG achievement. Who can attend the SDG Action Weekend (16 – 17 September 2023)?
The SDG Action Weekend will be open to representatives of all Member States, the UN system and organizations and stakeholders whose work is relevant to the implementation of the 2030 Agenda and the SDGs.
All in-person participants MUST have either a valid UN grounds pass or a Special Events Ticketissued by the United Nations to enter the United Nations Headquarters during the SDG Action Weekend. Please note that, as an exception, CSO badges (“N”) will be valid during the two days of the SDG Action Weekend (16 -17 September 2023).
Who needs to register for the SDG Action Weekend?
If you have a valid UN Grounds Pass:
Anyone with a valid UN Grounds Pass, including members of official government delegations, UN Entities, IGOs, media and Civil Society Representatives, will be able to access UNHQ premises on 16 -17 September without the need for additional registration.
If you DO NOT have a valid UN Grounds Pass:
All interested participants without a valid UN grounds pass will need to request registration to receive a Special Events Ticket. This includes those who are NOT members of the official delegations of Member States/GA-accredited IGOs/specialized agencies to GA78.

Registration will be open from 21 August to 8 September. Please note that late registrations cannot be accommodated and there will be no on-site registration.
