A high-level assessment was conducted to determine the general alignment of the actions with the 2020 target of SDG 11b, which calls for “integrated policies and plans towards inclusion, resource efficiency, mitigation and adaptation to climate change, [and] resilience to disasters”, and “holistic disaster risk management at all levels” that is “in line with the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015-2030. A total of 330 “Climate Actions” and 25 “Action Plans” submitted by 132 local and subnational governments were reviewed and a substantial number were found to contain language and principles consistent with the broad aims of the Paris Agreement, Sendai Framework, and the 2020 target of SDG 11.
