Sustainable Development Index at the municipal level (3rd edition - revised and extended)

Tools

The Municipal Sustainability Index (ISM Portuguese acronym) is a model for monitoring the Sustainable Development Goals at the local level. The ISM is a tool that measures the fulfilment of the Agenda 2030 at the municipal level. Inspired by the methodology of SDG Index, the 3rd version of the ISM is based on data from 129 indicators reflecting the 17 SDGs for the local level. All Portugueses municipalities belonging to the CESOP-Local network have access to their ISM 2020 Report, which includes results by indicator, target, SDG, each of the 5Ps, and global value. The Report also compares results of the municipality with the global results of its regions of belonging - NUTS level 2 and 3 - and with the national results. Together with the CESOP research team, the Network actively participates in the ISM improvement, and on the developing and sharing of diagnostic and intervention tools on Sustainable Development. We are willing to collaborate on similar projects in other countries
