A training and informative three-day seminar for executives of the Greek public administration took place in November 2017, with the title: "The 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations: The International European and National Context".
The seminar was organized by the National Center for Public Administration and Local Government in cooperation with the General Secretariat of the Government. The main speaker of the seminar was Mr. Nick Trantas (second from the right) , head of the Office of Coordination, Institutional, International and European Affairs of the General Secretariat of the Government.
The goal of the seminar was the training of the Greek Public Administration Executives about the current social, economic and environmental dimensions of sustainable development as they are depicted in the 2030 Agenda and the UN SDGs.
Apart from the information on the institutional and coordinating framework, the strategies and plans for implementation and adaptation of the SDGs at the national level as well as the evaluation reports and progress indicators, emphasis was also given on making use of the experience of the SDGs for the development of working methods in the implementation of long-term political strategies, best practices of collaboration between stakeholders and the consistency of public policies aimed at numerous and interconnected goals.
