The role of young people is fundamental for the implementation and fulfillment of the Sustainable Development Goals, they are active actors of change and generators of new ideas that promote the sustainable development of their environment. Changing patterns of production and consumption is a fundamental challenge, we are facing a unique opportunity and possibly the last to ensure a prosperous planet that guarantees adequate living conditions for all people in harmony with the care of the environment, to guarantee future generations a world full of opportunities and development.

EF Challenge 2018 is an international speech contest that encourages school students to find a creative and compelling way to answer a question, this year focuses on answering what is sustainable development for young people ?. Ecuador joins this initiative that seeks to link young people to public discussion and raise awareness of the importance of each actor in fulfilling the 2030 Agenda.
