The SDGs Brazil Award aims to encourage, recognize and give visibility to the best practices promoted by all levels of governments, civil society organizations, academia and private sector, that contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the country.

The Award is an initiative of the Brazilian Federal Government established by the Presidential Decree 9.295, published on February 2018, which will biennially recognize, until 2030, the practices developed in Brazil to implement the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. This will also allow the set-up of a database to be used as a reference on the implementation process of the 2030 Agenda.

The best practices will be selected according to several criteria related to the results achieved, the beneficiaries involved, replicability, partnerships in place, alignment with current public policies and the overall implementation of the SDGs. Interested actors can apply according to four categories: governments, NGOs, private sector and academia.

In order to promote the SDGs Brazil Award and support participants, the Federal Government of Brazil is also offering seminars in different regions of the country. To find the list and information about where the next seminar will take place, please check here.

Registration to submit your experience is open until the 29th of June 2018 and must be completed online through the website: www.odsbrasil.gov.br
