After having presented its first Local Voluntary Review during the High Level Political Forum in New York last July, New York City continues to confirm its commitment to transform the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development as a reality for its citizens. Last month, the city has adopted a new strategy, called OneNYC 2050, which aims to secure city's future against the challenges of today and tomorrow. It does so by proposing bold actions that can tackle climate crisis, achieve equity, and strengthen democracy.
Created under the requirements of Local Law 84 of 2013, OneNYC 2050 is New York City’s long-term strategic plan. It is organised around nine main chapters.
OneNYC 2050 is accompanied by an action plan that specifies the lead agencies for each goal, as well as milestones to complete by 31 December 2020 and by 31 December 2021.
