On 7 February 2025, following the successful UN Directors Group Retreat in Bilbao, directors from 14 United Nations entities convened in Madrid for a high-level meeting with key Spanish officials. This collective meeting, held with Hon. Eva Granados Galiano, Secretary of State for International Cooperation of the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation, and Mr. Sergio Colina, Director General for Development Policies, Spain, focused on discussing the key outcomes of the Bilbao retreat.
The discussions centered on the strategic decisions and commitments made during the retreat, particularly the roadmap for accelerating the localization of the Sustainable Development Goals.
Hon. Eva Granados Galiano and Mr. Sergio Colina emphasized Spain's commitment to advancing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development through a multi-level approach, ensuring that efforts are coordinated across local, regional and national levels to maximize impact.
