The Road to Seville: the Local Way engagement strategy continues to spotlight the importance of financing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at the local level in the lead-up to the Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development (FfD4).
On 20 March 2025, the State of Paraná, Brazil, hosted a local workshop that brought together diverse stakeholders, including Semipi, Fomento Paraná, and Fundação Araucária, to discuss how local and regional actors can help shape the global financing agenda.

- Ms. Keli Guimarães, Superintendent of Social and Economic Development, Paraná State Government, underscored the importance of understanding regional specificities to better allocate financial resources. She also emphasized the value of high-quality projects, effective tools, and solid research.
- Mr. Vinicius Rocha, President of Fomento Paraná, highlighted a new cooperation agreement with SGDES to advance the 2030 Agenda. Notably, 98% of the institution’s credit operations are currently aligned with the SDGs, signaling strong institutional commitment.
- Mr. Sébastien Vauzelle, Head of the Secretariat, Local2030 Coalition, emphasized the essential role of Paraná in shaping the international financing agenda ahead of FfD4. He noted that this workshop demonstrated the strength of the quadruple helix approach the Paraná Hub is championing—bringing together key actors to co-design solutions that drive systemic transformation.
