Case studies and best practices
This book is based on the results of the study on the localization of sustainable development objectives in the following six French-speaking African countries: Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Côte d'Ivoire, Guinea Conakry and Senegal. The objective of the study was to propose the lines of advocacy for the consideration of the city councilors in the mechanisms of implementation, financing and evaluation of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the UN . These country studies show national dynamics of ownership of new sustainable development goals. Which dynamics are supported on the one hand, on the same record of failure of the MDGs 2015 and on the other hand, on national development policies and strategies. The role and action of local governments in these dynamics remains to be clarified.
