The Rede ODS Brasil is promoting in collaboration with the Brazilian National Confederation of Municipalities (CNM), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the Latin-American Federation of Cities, Municipalities and Local Government Associations (FLACMA), the United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG), the Federation of Municipalities Associations of Pará and the City Hall of Barcarena, the Workshop to Localize the 2030 Agenda of Sustainable Development. The event will be held from 25 to 27 of April 2018 in Belém, Pará, Brazil,
The workshop aims to raise awareness of the municipalities that are still not familiar with the 2030 Agenda, so they can add its principles into their planning mechanisms and governmental management. Furthermore, it aims to promote the exchange of experiences among the municipalities that are already working with the Agenda.To this end, 30 places will be offered for two distinct groups, which will be defined according to the knowledge and experience of the participants.
The training will be based on the Module 1 of the Learning Modules for Localizing the SDGs, a series of training modules promoted by the Global Taskforce of Local and Regional Governments, UN-Habitat and UNDP, through the ART Initiative. These training modules aim to equip local and regional governments and their organizations, as well as other local actors, with a series of strategies, skills and knowledge that will support the localization of the SDGs.
