Since the adoption of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, many state and municipal governments are involved in planning and management instruments. However, these initiatives are mostly spontaneous and disconnected.
The Rede ODS Brasil has been promoting several actions to connect these governments and promote a share of experiences among them. This includes mapping and giving visibility to the best practices that can be replicated and identifying common challenges and looking for solutions through the production and dissemination of knowledge.
During the 3rd National Meeting of the Rede ODS Brasil - held on 5-6 June 2018 in Brasilia, Brazil – monitoring the actions to localize the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) was one of the recurring points of discussion among the representatives of the GT, governments and legislative houses, as well as the delay of the Brazilian Federal government to conclude the definition of the national indicators.
In order to follow up these questions, the GT decided to bring together state and municipal governments that are already aligning their planning instruments with the 2030 Agenda, to identify alternatives found to monitor and evaluate the actions to localize the SDGs, and to collectively define a set of indicators that meets the urgent demand of these governments.
This event - promoted by the Rede ODS Brasil, in partnership with the National School of Public Administration (ENAP) - will have closed public and limited vacancies.
