The United Nations Development Programme is holding a panel discussion on the Future of Cities: Transparent and Innovative Urban Development, which will take place at the at the margins of the European Week of Regions and Cities in Brussels (Belgium), on the 10th of October 2018.
This side-event aims to showcase experimentation in innovative methodologies and technologies and their implementation in Eastern Partnership countries with the view of strengthening accountability in city management.
In particular, the side-event will seek to:
1) Demonstrate political commitment and participatory processes as accelerators for reforms;
2) Showcase the role of technology in achieving higher level of integrity and efficiency in city management and delivery of public services;
3) Stimulate an open discussion on the systemic nature of challenges for cities in the region.
