With the adoption of the Sustainable Development Goals (2015) and the New Urban Agenda (2016) the world has a roadmap towards a sustainable, equitable and better designed future. Goal 11 (make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable) shines a bright light on cities, as does Goal 10 (reduce inequality) and Goal 13 (climate action) amongst others. The SDGs are the centerpiece of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
We invite you to answer the question, “How are the SDGs traveling in your world?”. By participating in the City Maker Survey you will help us understand the take-up – how and where – of the SDGs and the New Urban Agenda. Results will be shared with respondents directly, and through publications. Our aim with this three-stage project is to help accelerate the SDGs.
We are interested in hearing from ‘city makers’: people contributing to their cities through education (as teachers, researchers and students), the urban professions including local government and the arts, and those involved in civil society organizations. The survey is available in English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Mandarin and Hindi and will take about seven minutes to complete.
Your responses will also help us develop Stage 2 of this action-oriented project – the LOCAL PROJECTS CHALLENGE.
The aim of this project is to help accelerate awareness of the SDGs and NUA though practical action, including action in communities where the SDGs and NUA may not be so well known, and to contribute to their mainstreaming.
