The Second International Conference on National Urban Policy, co-hosted by the Organization for Economic Co-Operation and Development (OECD) and UN Habitat, will be the first opportunity following the Habitat III Conference in Quito in October 2016 and during the ongoing Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) process, to consider in a global forum the role of National Urban Policy in the global urban agenda.
Themes and topics
This year’s theme, National Urban Policies: Implementing the SDGs and the New Urban Agenda, will touch on to what extent progress is being made on developing and implementing National Urban Policies to support the implementation of:
- the New Urban Agenda
- the Sustainable Development Goals
- the Paris Agreement
- and other global agreements
Target audience
This Conference will be of wide interest to policy makers, government officials, and non-governmental actors that are working in areas of urban policy or recognize the importance of introducing urban approaches at the national level.
